Osteoarthritis is one the world’s leading causes of disability today. Damage to the articular cartilage whether as a result of trauma or due to degenerative changes significantly accelerates the onset of Osteoarthritis. Cartilage does not possess an innate ability to heal or regenerate and a solution that can restore native cartilage is one of the “holy grails” in orthopaedics today. Although there are a number of propositions on the market today we are yet to see a solution which regenerates the cartilage and provides long term results. Altach’s goal is to change that.
